Low Snow

Posted on 12th October 2017 at 09:07

Snow levels in the Cascades are dropping today. The Weather Service is out with a Winter Weather Advisory this morning, reporting that snow levels will drop to 4,000 feet today. Forecasters say that snow levels will drop to 4,000 feet this morning, and will remain around that level until tomorrow morning. This level is low enough to affect the higher mountain passes, and other high-elevation roads. Snow is also expected to be heavy when it falls, coming down at a rate of one to two inches per hours. Five to ten inches of snow is possible on some mountain passes; as much as 16 inches could fall on the ski resorts. If you’re heading into the mountains today, be ready for strong weather and limited visibility, especially at night.
