The woman who sickened about 30 people at the St. Helens Safeway store when she sprayed a can of mace near the deli counter back in March is pleading guilty. It’s reported that Elisha Nichols entered a plea in Columbia County Circuit Court yesterday, pleading guilty to unlawful use of mace, disorderly conduct, assault and reckless endangerment. Under the plea agreement, she’ll pay fines and perform community service. If she meets all court conditions, then the charges would be dismissed after two years. More than 100 people were evacuated from the store and more than 30 needed medical treatment after Nichols and a juvenile female sprayed the canister of mace inside the store.
