Ground searchers moved out this morning from Toutle Lake High School, the command post for an effort to find a bear hunter who’s been missing since Wednesday. Bear season opened yesterday; early this morning, the parents of a man who’d gone up onto the 4100 line called the Sheriff’s Office, reporting that he hadn’t come home. The parents say that the man was dressed in camo and was armed with a high-powered rifle, but he only had a small amount of food, along with his cell phone and a lighter. Deputies report that they did find the man’s truck, but they haven’t found him as of yet. The ground search effort is scheduled to get under way at 8 am today, and it took about an hour to track him down.
