A man who used to work in Longview as a contractor is heading to Federal prison, after pleading guilty to Federal charges of mail fraud, bank fraud and money laundering. The U. S. Attorney’s Office in Tacoma reports that Donald Chill, 41, of Marco Island, Florida, was sentenced yesterday in U. S. District Court, following his guilty plea in October of last year. Chill had a company called Charles Prescott Restoration, specializing in the rehabilitation of property damaged by fire, flood, wind and vandalism. Most of his work involved billing of insurance companies. In his plea agreement, Chill admitted that he inflated billings for his work, then he sold the company without disclosing the fraud. Chill was sentenced to four years in prison, five years of supervised release, and was also ordered to pay nearly $5 million in restitution.
