If the producers of “Hotel Hell” were looking for some additional storylines during their taping at the Monticello Hotel in Longview, it appears that hotel owner Phil Lovingfoss was able to provide some of that on Wednesday night. Longview Police arrested Lovingfoss on a DUI charge, taking him into custody right next to the historic building on the Civic Circle. Lovingfoss was arrested at about 10:20 pm on Wednesday night, as a Longview officer observed a pickup making some improper moves in the Civic Circle. The pickup with Lovingfoss at the wheel was stopped in the parking lot of the hotel; officers say that Lovingfoss had an “odor of intoxicants,” and reportedly admitted to “drinking one beer.” They say that he failed a field sobriety test, and was later found to have a blood alcohol level of over .09 percent, over the legal limit of .08. Lovingfoss was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail for an overnight stay, while his pickup was impounded. It’s reported that the crews from Fox Studios had the cameras rolling as Lovingfoss was released yesterday, after a court appearance and the posting of bail. His next court appearance is set for July 12th.
