Longview Police continue to investigate a serious motorcycle crash that took place last night in the 200 block of 24th Street. Officers and aid crews were called to that scene at 9:25 pm, where it was reported that a motorcycle had crashed, and that the rider was seriously injured. Those on the scene reported that the male rider was bleeding profusely from a head injury, and also had a wound to his chest. That man was taken first to Saint John Medical Center, and then was transferred to Oregon Health and Science University, where he’s now listed in critical condition. The victim’s name hasn’t been officially released. At this time, it doesn’t appear that anyone else was injured. As the investigation continues, it’s now being reported that the 33 year-old motorcycle rider had been following a small sedan, and then moved to overtake the car. They say that the man got in front of the car and attempted a wheelie, and that’s when the crash occurred. The victim’s name still has not been released.
