Heading into the last week before Election Day, U. S. Senator Patty Murray was in Longview, rallying the Democrat Party faithful and meeting with local veterans. More than 100 people came to a rally at the Cowlitz County Democrat headquarters on Oregon Way, where Murray talked about her passion in serving. Murray touts her record in working for this area, pointing to her efforts in helping to preserve funding for the Columbia River Channel Deepening, along with other local projects. Murray also talked up her support for local veterans, discussing the bill she authored and got passed, helping to provide VA medical facilities for female veterans. Murray is highly critical of Dino Rossi’s stand on Wall Street reform, warning that that’s the first bill that he would work to repeal; Murray says that would remove the first real consumer protections that have been put in place in more than a generation. Murray exhorted the group to continue the “get-out-the-vote” efforts, saying that it’s more important than ever that every voter exercises their franchise.
