A man who’d previously worked as a youth pastor in the local area is now under arrest on charges of having a long-term sexual relationship with a teenage girl. Today’s Daily News reports on the arrest of Michael Louis Anthony, 43, who turned himself in to Kelso Police on the 13th of this month. He was booked into the County Jail last Friday, and is now being held on suspicion of third-degree child molestation, third-degree rape of a child and second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor. Anthony reportedly admits to the relationship with the girl, who was 15 when the sexual relationship started back in 2008. The girl told investigators that Anthony was her youth pastor when the consensual relationship started back in October of 2008. In speaking to investigators, Anthony says that the couple has had sex “too many times to count.” Anthony was fired from his position as youth pastor with the Calvary Chapel Church in Longview in September of last year, reportedly at the request of Anthony’s wife, so he could “work on his marriage.” Anthony is currently being held on bail of $150,000.
