The Cowlitz PUD is announcing a new way for its customers to pay their bills, rolling out a new “paperless” e-billing option. PUD Customer Service Director Dave Andrew says that “e-Bill” will allow customers quicker access to their bills, along with having the ability to check through their billing history and make payments on-line. Andrew says that this is a completely voluntary program, and the utility expects it to be extremely popular. Andrew also says that this should be a money-saver for both the PUD and for the consumer. The utility will save money by not having to print and mail paper bills, while customers will also save money and time on postage and handling. PUD officials also say that the e-Bill program will reduce the chance of identity theft, helping to eliminate the opportunity for thieves to steal sensitive personal information. Signing up is as easy as going to the Cowlitz PUD website, and then click “Paperless Billing” on the Customer Services drop-down menu. Video tutorials will walk you through the process.
