William Charles Womack, 38, now faces a prison term, after being convicted of multiple counts of child rape, one count of child molestation and a count of intimidating a witness, a verdict that came out of a ten-day trial in Cowlitz County Superior Court. In today’s Daily News, they say that the former Kelso resident will be sentenced on December 23rd. Womack is the first of three defendants to be tried in connection with the abuse of a young girl. Authorities say he sexually assaulted the girl between 2002 and 2008. Tamilynn Roo Ashley, 38, of Longview, who used to work as a clerk at the Sheriff’s Office, has reportedly come to an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office, allowing her to plead guilty to second-degree child molestation and failure to report the abuse of a child. She’s expected to be in court today. A third suspect, Allen Darrel Smith, 41, of Kelso, is currently set to go on trial in February. He’s accused of molesting the same victim between 2009 and 2010.
