Rate Restructure

Posted on 27th August 2010 at 08:16

The way that water and sewer charges in the City of Longview are calculated are changing, as the City Council approves a change from a flat rate to a consumption-based rate structure. City Council member Dennis Weber says that this will charge utility customers for what they actually use. City officials had been planning to make some other rate increases with the change to the consumption-based structure, but with the receipt of a low-interest loan and a grant for the Mint Farm Water Supply Project, they’re saying that no rate increases are needed at this time. They are suggesting that the City Council review utility rates next month.
