The Cowlitz County Swift-Water Rescue Team also got some work in yesterday, as a woman needed help after falling into the Kalama River. Around 5:40 pm, rescue teams were called to the 2000 block of the Kalama River Road, where it was reported that a woman was stranded on a rock in the middle of the river. Companions say that they had been floating down the river when the woman fell off of her inner tube, and got stranded on a rock. The river is about 60 feet wide where she got stuck, with very swift water flowing by. A component of Cowlitz County Dive Rescue, the Swift-Water Rescue Team was able to get its boat in upstream from the woman, and helped to rescue her at about 7 pm. They say that the woman was unhurt, and she was eventually dropped off with her friends.
