One of the three suspects reported to have been involved in a Monday assault and robbery in Longview is now in custody, arrested yesterday morning as he reported to the Department of Corrections for a daily check-in. At about 10:15 yesterday morning, DOC officials called Longview Police, reporting that Keola Raymond Barney, 27, of Longview was in their lobby, waiting for his regular appointment. Just before noon on Monday, a man found bleeding at Gerhart Gardens Park identified Barney as one of the three men who’d beaten and robbed him. Officers responded to the office and took Barney into custody on a second-degree robbery charge, with bail set at $100,000. Barney is also being detained on a no-bail DOC hold. Longview Police continue the effort to find the other two suspects; one of those men has been identified, and they’re working to identify the third man.
