Longview Police say that the person who allegedly tried to rob the 20th Avenue Grocery at knifepoint back on the 1st of this month is now in custody. On that day, a suspect came into the store, produced a knife and demanded money. After the clerk said that there wasn’t any money available, the suspect took candy, cigarettes and beef jerky, and then took off on foot. Last Friday, a Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a 15 year-old boy on an unrelated matter; a Longview Police Detective came in and interviewed the teen, and then was connected to the robbery. The boy is now being held in the Cowlitz County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of 1st-degree robbery.
