School may be out, but there’s still stuff to be done at the Lower Columbia School Gardens around the area, and events are planned, starting today and going through the end of August. From 9 am until noon today, “open garden” events are planned at Huntington Middle School in Kelso and Mint Valley Elementary School in Longview. Kids, families and community members are invited to come by and help tend and water the plants; you can also do some crafts and special projects, and may even end up with some berries or fresh produce. Similar “open gardens” are planned through Thursday at other schools with gardens, and each Wednesday, there’s a Produce Sale from 10 am until noon at Northlake Elementary School in Longview.
