There were a number of weather-related fender-benders reported yesterday morning, along with at least one minor crash reported this morning just north of Kalama. Shortly after 8 am yesterday, there was a semi-versus-car collision reported on I-5 in Kelso. State Troopers say Colby Erickson, 23, of Longview was southbound near the Longview Wye, traveling in the left lane. She spun out and hit the cable barrier, then crossed back into the travel lanes, hitting a semi driven by Garth Chadwick, 56, of Seattle. Erickson’s car came to rest in the left lane, while Chadwick’s truck ended up in the right lane. Erickson complained of neck and back pain, and was treated and released from St. John Medical Center. Troopers blame the crash on excessive speed, and say Erickson will be cited for driving too fast for the conditions.
