Five employees with a combined 165 years of service to the City of Longview were honored at this week’s Longview City Council meeting. Rocky Earls with the Longview Fire Department, Michael Sides with the Transit Department and Dixie Wells with the Police Department were all honored for 30 years of service. Pete Kennedy with the Traffic Department was recognized for 35 years with the city, and Mark Burchim of the Engineering Department is being honored for 40 years of service to the City of Longview. Each of the employees is being presented with a living Cypress tree seedling, an award pin and a certificate honoring their service. Mayor Don Jensen, City Manager Bob Gregory and Human Resources Director Keith Larson all say that each of these people is showing remarkable achievement, faithfulness and dedication to the city.
