Sewer Awards

Posted on 30th June 2014 at 16:02

Five wastewater treatment facilities in Cowlitz County are among the 126 such plants across Washington state that are being honored for “perfect performance” in 2013. The Department of Ecology announced its Outstanding Wastewater Treatment Plant Awards late last week, saying that awards are being presented to the City of Castle Rock Wastewater Treatment Plant, the City of Kalama Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Port of Kalama Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Three Rivers Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Cowlitz County-Toutle Sewage Treatment Plant. This is actually the 10th consecutive year that the Cowlitz County-Toutle facility has received this award, while the City of Kalama plant is on its fifth consecutive year. To qualify, all of these award-winners passed all environmental tests, analyzed all samples, turned in all state-required reports, and avoided permit violations throughout 2013.
