Today is the deadline to get signed up for the Beginning Summer Sewing Camp that the local 4-H chapter will be offering next month. The summer day camp will run from Monday through Friday, July 18th to the 22nd. The camp will run from 9 am until noon each day, with WSU Extension 4-H volunteers teaching basic sewing skills, along with basic on use and care of a sewing machine. Participants will make things like a pincushion, a needle holder, a “9-patch pillow,” a book bag, an apron and other projects as time allows. Students should supply their own machines in good working order, though there could be access to a volunteer’s machine, on a first-come, first-served basis. Class size is limited to ten to 12 students. Call WSU Extension at 577-3014, extension zero to get more information.
