Julio Marin Rangel, 47, of Longview is being charged with DUI and reckless driving after he allegedly caused a two-car crash that injured three people yesterday afternoon on I-5 near milepost 54 southbound. State Troopers say that Rangel was driving at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the rear end of an SUV driven by Miguel Miranda Bailon, 43, of Pasco. The impact from the collision sent Bailon’s car off the freeway, where it rolled and then came to rest on its roof. Rangel was taken to St. John Medical Center after the collision, along with Marcos Miranda Bailon, 45, of Cornelius and Ricardo Estrada, 20, of Pasco. After his treatment at the hospital, Rangel was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail, where he’s currently being held without bail. Bailon and Estrada were treated and released.
