The stage is set for the third annual Longview Squirrel Fest, a day-long celebration planned for tomorrow at Longview’s Civic Circle. The party gets started at 8 am with the “Happy Kids Fun on the Run” 5K, and then four world-renowed chainsaw carvers will start work at 9 am. Their work will be auctioned off later in the day. The Squirrel Fest Parade starts at 10, and the rest of the day is filled with live entertainment, games for the kids and other fun. The 2013 Squirrel Bridge will be unveiled at noon, and the beer and wine garden opens at 4. The headline act for tomorrow is the alt-rock band “Spin Doctors,” set to take the stage at 9 pm. Things wrap up with a big fireworks show from the roof of the Monticello Hotel, set to begin at 10:30 pm. There will also be shuttles back and forth from the Columbian Artist Association “Art in the Park” event at Lake Sacajawea. Admission is free, so bring the kids down and have some fun.
