Jacob Baker, 21, of Toledo is being charged with second-degree negligent driving after a crash that took place Tuesday afternoon on SR 505, just outside of town. State Troopers say that Craig McCown, 51, of Kelso was southbound on the highway at about 5 pm on Tuesday, as Baker was driving behind him. McCown slowed to make a left turn, and was rear-ended by the pickup Baker was driving. McCown was unhurt, but Baker and his passenger, Joshua Morrison, 17, of Castle Rock, were hurt; both were taken to Centralia Providence Hospital for treatment. Troopers blame the collision on “distracted driving,” but they didn’t specify what it was that distracted Baker.
