Local 6th to 12th-graders who have an interest in the theatrical arts have a chance to explore those interests further at the Stageworks Northwest Summer Camp, which starts today and runs through July 26th. Jon-Erik Hegstad is the primary counselor, coming in as a second-year candidate for the University of Washington Actor-in-Training program. He’s being joined by R. A. Long graduate Julisa Lyn Smith, who is currently living and working in Los Angeles as an actor, writer and director. Campers will take part in a variety of activities, including audition techniques, scene study, monologues, and a variety of acting techniques. The Stageworks Northwest Summer Camp will run Monday through Friday through July 26th. 9th to 12th-graders will be involved from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by 6th to 8th graders from 1 to 5 pm. This will all take place in the Stageworks Northwest Theatre, located in the old Longview Theatre on Commerce Avenue in Longview. Go to the Stageworks Northwest website for additional information.
