It’s that time again, as 10,000 bike riders come through the area on Saturday and Sunday during the 2013 Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic. Starting early tomorrow morning, the riders will be leaving the University of Washington, then will pedal their way to the Lloyd Center area of Portland. Several local roads will be impacted, including SR 506 near Vader, Westside Highway from Vader to Longview, Industrial Way, the Lewis and Clark Bridge, and Highway 30 all the way into Portland. Riders will start showing up in the local area late tomorrow morning and through the afternoon, but the bulk of those involved are coming through on Sunday. Be aware of possible congestion on Westside Highway from Castle Rock to Kelso, on Industrial Way, and crossing the Lewis and Clark Bridge. State Troopers and flaggers will be helping to control traffic on those routes from 8:30 am to 3 pm on Sunday, as members of the local Gold Wing club escort rider across the bridge. Delays of up to 20 minutes at a time are possible.
