Work is now under way on Kelso’s citywide overlay project, with a goal of improving road surfaces on several streets around town. Seven streets are targeted for work this year, including Lewis, Redpath, Crawford, Maple, Alder, Grim Road and Corduroy Road. City officials say that these streets could be in a state of disrepair for about six weeks. Grim Road will also be closed from the City Limits to Banyon Drive. City officials say that they’ll be using door hangers and street signs to alert local residents when work will be done in their area; there will be times when all vehicles will need to be removed from the street, so that the repairs can be completed. Cars not moved will towed at the owners’ expense. Work will be done during daylight hours, and should be finished by August 31st. Call the City of Kelso at 423-6590 for more information.
