It’s time to make sure those studded tires are off the car. Both the Washington and Oregon Departments of Transportation are out with reminders that today is the last day that it’s legal to have those tires on your car. Neither state plans to extend the deadline for removal of the studs. Drivers planning to head over mountain passes are reminded to make sure that you “know before you go,” and be sure to have the equipment needed in case you run into some late season snow or ice. In Washington, you could get a ticket of $124 if you’re caught driving on studded tires after the March 31st deadline, $190 in Oregon.
