Student Success Grant

Posted on 29th February 2016 at 09:03

Lower Columbia College is getting a portion of $340,000 that’s being donated to community and technical colleges across the state, helping to support student scholarships and emergency assistance funds. LCC is receiving $10,000 from the Kirkland-based Biella Foundation, which is providing grants to all 34 community and technical colleges across the state. LCC Foundation Executive Director Erin Zeiger says that support like this from a family foundation is “unprecedented,” also saying that this money will go right into the LCC Student Success Fund. Zeiger also says that the Biella Foundation intends to continue this support each year, so this gift will continue to touch the lives to students, and will help these people understand the transformational power of community colleges in helping to build stronger local communities.
