Scott Boag, 51, of Vancouver is going to jail for 90 days, and is also being ordered to repay a Kalama man $100,000, after he admitted to bilking the man to feed his gambling habit. The Daily News reports on Boag’s story, saying that he pleaded guilty last week to charges of forgery and first-degree theft. Over the past two years, Boag forged and cashed checks on the account of the 78 year-old victim, also overcharging him for construction and maintenance jobs at the man’s house. At Monday’s sentencing hearing, it was also noted that if the victim should die, Boag would then be required to continue making the restitution payments to the victim’s family.
