A group of hunters from the Woodland area is back at home, after some mechanical troubles with their rig kept them out in the woods for some extra time. Around 2 am yesterday, a woman called 911 to report that her husband and two other men were overdue from a hunting trip near Cougar. She had last had contact with the men at about 4 pm on Saturday, as they were leaving the Cougar Bar and Grill. The men had planned to back before dark. As the Sheriff’s Office was starting to get resources together to head into that area, the woman called back about an hour later, saying that the trio had made contact. The husband says that the transmission went out on their pickup, and they had to drive in reverse until they could once again get cell service. The three men were unhurt, and they hung out at the Cougar Bar and Grill until assistance could arrive.
