There’s a new recreational option opening up this weekend up at Silver Lake. After about three years of development, the Tree House Island ziplines open today. Tree House Island is located in the middle of Silver Lake, and now has six ziplines installed, whizzing you through the canopy of trees on the fifty-acre island. The longest cable line is 600 feet long, and the tallest take-off deck is some 68 feet off of the ground. The grand opening of Tree House Island is planned for tomorrow and Sunday, with a special rate available on both of those days. Your admission fee pays for the boat ride to and from the island, a zipline tour and a pass to explore the island after your tour. You can also rent a canoe, fish or simply enjoy exploring the island. You can call 274-2425 for reservation information, or go to www.treehouseisland.com.
