Saying that he’s “lost the passion for the job,” Skip Urling is resigning his post on the Longview School Board. Urling sent an e-mail to School Board President Jennifer Leach and to Interim Superintendent Greg Kirsch on the 6th of this month, announcing his intention to quit. In the e-mail, Urling says that the School Board deserves someone who is more dedicated than he is at this point, after 12 years on the panel. Formal action on Urling’s resignation is planned for next Monday’s regular meeting of the Longview School Board. The remaining School Board members now have 90 days to find a replacement, but Leach says that they hope to have a successor named by the end of this month.
