Longview Police say that review of security videos helped lead to the arrest of several suspects in connection with a series of vandalism incidents that have taken place in the past ten days, and one of those suspects is the adopted son of Washington Court of Appeals Judge Jill Johanson and her husband, local attorney Pat Kubin. LPD reports taking Jacob Kurtis Johanson-Kubin,21, into custody on Wednesday, charging him with felony counts of second-degree arson, reckless burning and first-degree malicious mischief. Kubin and two juvenile suspects are now being accused in a series of incidents around the area, including the slashing of tires on 14 Post Office vehicles, the burning of porta-potties at Mark Morris and trash cans at Lake Sacajawea, and the flattening of tires on the Homeless Veterans Assistance RV owned by the Longview Housing Authority. Johanson-Kubin was arrested by LPD Detectives on Wednesday, and is currently being held on bail of $10,000. The juvenile suspects are being referred to the prosecutor’s office for a charging decision.
