The unsettled weather that we’ve been dealing with over the past few days is expected to intensify later today, with heavy rains expected tonight and early tomorrow. The Weather Service says that a deep low pressure system is moving through the area, bringing showers and thunderstorms through the morning. Heavier showers are expected to start tonight, and will continue into tomorrow morning. Forecasters say that some areas on the west side of the state could get as much as two inches of rain out of this system, and as much as four inches could fall in the Cascades. Locally, between a quarter-inch and three-quarters of an inch are expected. Some urban flooding could be possible, as storm drains are overwhelmed; there’s also a Flood Watch in effect for tonight and into tomorrow for Lewis County, Grays Harbor County and other counties to the north and west of us. The exact track of this storm isn’t known as of yet.
