Windy Weather

Posted on 18th November 2013 at 16:55

Look for windy and wet weather around the area today, as another strong frontal system sweeps across the region. The Weather Service says that a “vigorous storm” off the coast will bring heavy rains and wind gusts of up to 35 miles an hour to Cowlitz County and the surrounding area. On the coast, wind gusts of up to 55 miles an hour are possible out of this system, along with rain that could total as much as three inches. Up to an inch of rain is possible in the local area. This type of system could cause tree damage and power outages, along some localized flooding, due to clogged storm drains. “Substantial” rains are expected tonight and tomorrow. Drier weather is expected later this week, but it will also be much colder, with overnight lows possibly dipping into the 20’s.
