Michael Chambers, 62, of Castle Rock is in the Intensive Care Unit at PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver after a two-car crash that took place yesterday afternoon on I-5 near Woodland. State Troopers say that the collision took place just before 2 pm, on the southbound freeway just north of Woodland. Chambers was in the center lane of the freeway, as John White, 42, of Lake Tapps slowed for traffic. Chambers rear-ended the car White was driving, totaling both vehicles. Chambers was seriously injured, and was taken by ambulance to Vancouver; he’s currently listed in critical condition. White and his four passengers were unhurt. Troopers say that Chambers was following too closely, and will eventually be cited for that infraction.
