Fire crews from Woodland and Kalama have been dealing with a house fire reported at about 4:30 this morning. The first 911 calls came in around 4:30 am, reporting that flames were seen at an unoccupied home at 4005 Dike Road. As law enforcement responded, they reported seeing the fire from some distance away, and by the time the first units arrived, the house was engulfed in flames. They also reported that the fire was spreading into nearby tress. Within ten minutes, the house had collapsed; firefighters arrived and started work to protect a camp trailer that was parked near the burning house. There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire, nor is there a dollar estimate on damage.
